Central Coast Council, Mayor and Councillors

The Central Coast Council is represented by 15 Councillors who were elected for a 4-year term, until September 2028.
A Councillor’s role as an elected representative is to provide an essential link between the community and Council. Councillors must work as a team to make decisions and policies that guide the activities of the council.

    Rip Road Public Reserve works
    Foreshore renewal works commenced Monday 27 October at Rip Road Public Reserve, Blackwall to restore the usability of the beach, improve safety and help prevent erosion to ensure the ongoing use for all.Due to the age of the structure, the existing shoreline is in poor condition with failing walls and ad hoc protection structures. The full list of works include:Dismantle and demolition of existing retaining structures. Construction of new sandstone retaining wall with a stepped finish to help prevent erosions and subsidence. Construction of new stairs, mooring posts and dinghy skids to improve access to beach.

    Free dog training sessions encourage safe and harmonious living on the Coast
    Our ‘Come and Try’ free dog training sessions were successfully piloted last year to support responsible pet ownership and promote harmonious community living and this year there’s more on offer.There are 12 sessions taking place across the Coast in November 2025 that are designed to equip dog owners with essential skills such as loose leash walking, basic obedience, and recall, delivered in a positive and engaging format to help raise happy, well-behaved dogs.Experienced trainers will guide participants through key commands and techniques and provides an opportunity for dogs and owners to socialise with others in a safe and supportive setting.

    Carpark upgrade in progress at James Browne Oval, Woy Woy
    Exciting improvements are coming to James Browne Oval in Woy Woy, with construction now underway to upgrade the carpark and install new lighting.The project will deliver a new resurfaced carpark designed to improve safety, accessibility, and the overall experience for everyone who uses the sports fields and surrounding facilities.Works are expected to be completed in early 2026.While construction is in progress, the carpark will be closed to the public.
