We are continuing our constant and close monitoring of lakes, waterways, beaches and roads for flooding and storm impacts, as an East Coast Low (ECL) impacts the Coast.
Some Central Coast residents, businesses and communities continue to recover from the impacts of the three flood events experienced in February, March and July this year, and the consistent heavy rainfall. In addition to the works Council is undertaking to repair and recover from the impacts to our own facilities and assets that we manage, we are also on hand to assist communities not only to recover but prepare for future resilience against further weather events. We’re encouraging all community members, including those without dogs as pets, to have their say on the draft Dogs in Open Space Action Plan now on exhibition (1 July to 26 August).This draft Action Plan allows the community to provide feedback on off-leash areas, with the aim to improve opportunity for dedicated dog exercise areas and open space that all community members can safely enjoy.Council currently manages and maintains 61 off-leash dog areas including open space reserves, beaches and fenced off-leash areas.
Severe Weather Warning The BOM issued a Minor to Moderate Flood Warning at 11.29am 3 July for the Hawkesbury River at Wisemans Ferry which is expected to reach the moderate flood level (3.50 metres) during Monday.
