🌊Tuggerah Lakes is at 0.9m AHD at 9.30am Tue 29 April, which is the minor flood level of 0.9m. The channel is currently open between the lake and ocean - we've seen water running in and out throughout the whole tidal cycle. However, the lake water level is generally at a similar level to the ocean and within the tidal range. Council staff remain on site with seven heavy machinery vehicles helping to clear sand.
This event may change quickly. We are monitoring the situation and will update our Facebook posts if the situation changes.
📝Plan your route carefully to avoid flooded roads and allow extra travel time.
✔️Obey all signs about road closures and instructions from emergency services.
â›”Avoid storm drains and pipes, ditches, ravines and rivers.
â›”Never drive, walk, ride through, play or swim in floodwater - it is dangerous, toxic, and may void your car insurance. If it's flooded, forget it. Fines apply. Please take care on the roads, drive to the conditions, turn your headlights and avoid unnecessary travel. Local roads may be closed due to flash flooding.
