27/11/2023Central Coast Council offices will be closed on Friday 1 December for a Local Government State Award approved Union Picnic Day.
Some of Council’s services and facilities will be closed or have changes, however essential services will continue to operate.
Customer service and reporting of issues
- All Customer Service Centres will be closed.
- Urgent reports - We have an out-of-hours service available on 02 4306 7900 to call in any urgent reports such as water main breaks, sewer issues or urgent road safety issues (such as fallen trees over roads).
- Non-urgent - Customers can contact Council with non-emergency enquiries, requests, reporting issues or formal feedback 24/7 through our online Customer Service Centre. These will be progressed by our Customer Service Team from Monday 4 December during business hours.
Animal care facilities / dogs
- Council’s Animal Care Facilities at Charmhaven and Erina will be operating from 8am-11am. During these hours, Council’s Animal Care Facilities will accept stray/lost animals and allow owners to collect impounded animals.
- If you witness a dog attack or are attacked by a dog, please report it to Council as soon as possible on 02 4306 7900, or call 000 if emergency services are required.
- If you see a roaming or unleashed dog report it to Council on 02 4306 7900. If safe to do so, you can take roaming, unleashed or lost dogs back to its owner, if known, or to the nearest vet to be scanned for a microchip in an attempt to identify the owner. If the dog's ownership cannot be established, the dog is required to be taken to one of Council's Animal Care Facilities. If your own dog or cat is lost you can report it to Council on 02 4306 7900

Airport
- Central Coast Airport at Warnervale remains open.

Beaches
- All 15 Central Coast patrolled beaches will be patrolled on Union Picnic Day (1 December)

Cemeteries
- Cemeteries and gardens will be open to visitors during daylight hours every day for visitation.
Community centres and halls
- Open to the public, Friday 1 December

Early Childhood Education and Care Centres
- All Centres will be closed for Union Picnic Day (Friday, 1 December 2023) and this has been communicated to all families.

Grant McBride Baths
- Grant McBride Baths at The Entrance is scheduled to be open and patrolled on Union Picnic Day (1 December)

Laycock Street Theatre
- Laycock Street Community Theatre will operate on Union Picnic Day.

Leisure centres, gyms and pools
- All leisure centres, gyms and pools will be open on Union Picnic Day (1 December), except Wyong Pool which will be closed to the public due to an existing booking.
- 24-hour gym access is available at Peninsula Leisure Centre and Lake Haven Recreation Centre with appropriate access tag.

Libraries
- All libraries will be closed on Friday 1 December.
- All after hours chutes will be open on Friday 1 December.
- Bateau Bay, Kariong, and Toukley Libraries will be available to customers inducted for Library@YourTime
- Library Reservation Lockers will be accessible at Erina, Tuggerah, and Umina Beach libraries as well as Wyong Service Centre.

Roads
- Urgent road maintenance or safety issues should be reported to Council by phoning 02 4306 7900, which will immediately go through to our out-of-hours officer to be assessed and responded to.
- Non-emergency enquiries, requests, reporting issues or formal feedback can be made 24/7 through our online Customer Service Centre, which will be progressed from Monday 4 December.

Waste services and facilities
- All residential waste collection services continue as normal. Visit 1coast.com.au for more information, to report missed services, book bulk pickups and more.
- Woy Woy and Buttonderry Waste Management Facilities will be open.

Water and sewer
- Any water service interruptions are listed on Council’s website.
- Urgent water or sewer issues (such as a spill, leak, bubbling water, water decolourisation or no water pressure) should be reported to Council by phoning 4306 7900 immediately so we can assess and respond as soon as possible.

Visitor information Centre, The Entrance
- The Central Coast Visitor Centre, located at The Entrance will be open Friday 1 December.
- Central Coast visitor information can also be found on Council’s destination website, Love Central Coast.
Council offices will also be closed during the Christmas and New Year period from 25 December 2023 to 1 January 2024 (inclusive). Specific details similar to the above will be posted from Monday 4 December.
