Central Coast Council Water and Sewer has successfully tested new, innovative condition assessment technology for water and sewer pressure pipelines.As part of Council's commitment to continual improvement across Water and Sewer operations and service delivery, the assessment technology offers numerous advantages with a focus on customers, cost efficiency and the environment.The technology will improve strategic and tactical decision-making for planned renewals and upgrades.

The Central Coast  has won First Place in the global Green Destinations Story Awards at the world’s leading travel trade show ITB Berlin on Wednesday 6 March. The annual awards are presented to the most inspiring sustainable tourism initiatives submitted across six categories, with the Central Coast receiving the top accolade in the Destination Management category.The NSW Central Coast was the only Australian certified ECO Destination recognised on the international stage at ITB Berlin 2024.

Various road works are underway this week, with crews filling potholes (as the first level of maintenance to keep the road safe in the short term), through to longer term works such as heavy patching and road rehabilitation.

In a continuation of Central Coast Council’s commitment to the community to be accountable and transparent in its progress to improve water and sewer services, Council has delivered an update on the Water and Sewer Delivery Plan 2022-2026.The bi-annual report highlights the key achievements across July to December 2023 under three focus areas:

Central Coast Council has received $40 million from the Australian Government to deliver a Central Coast Local Roads Package, following a 2022 Labor election commitment.  The funding package will see the delivery of 46 individual projects to be carried out over a four-year period, from 2023/24 to 2026/27.Projects will involve 45 Road Pavement Upgrades and one Road and Drainage Upgrade which will benefit roads across the Central Coast.

Central Coast Council’s Water and Sewer team are working with contractors to complete an extensive works program ensuring reliable water and sewer infrastructure in the Gosford CBD that meets the needs of the community, now and in the future.

Central Coast Council is calling for artists to present and develop new performance work in Council’s ‘Performance Illuminated’ pilot program.The Performance Illuminated pilot program, to be run in Council owned and operated theatre venues, is intended to support emerging works and performers in Laycock Street Community Theatre, Wyoming and Peninsula Theatre, Woy Woy.The theatres are piloting three approaches in the program to attract a diverse and vibrant range of uses for the intimate stages of Council’s theatre venues in Wyoming and Woy Woy.By Council offering a range of supportive options for the performing arts industry to pitch ideas to use the space, we are increasing opportunities for arts on the Coast and fostering work in a variety of forms.The successful applications will be selected via a panel assessment, which will make recommendations about the applications that qualify against the criteria in the assessment matrix provided in the application process. Council is looking forward to seeing a diverse mix of performing artists from a cross section of the industry utilise these theatres and deliver works to help define our region as a cultural destination.Performance Illuminated will provide artists with opportunities to co-present new work, develop new work and the space to rehearse.The Performance Illuminated pilot program options supporting different stages of creative development are: 1.
