The Central Coast Council is represented by 15 Councillors who were elected for a 4-year term, until September 2028.

A Councillor’s role as an elected representative is to provide an essential link between the community and Council. Councillors must work as a team to make decisions and policies that guide the activities of the council.

    Help shape the future of walking, wheeling and cycling across the region
    Central Coast Council is inviting the community to have their say on the draft Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Strategy – a long-term plan that will guide how people move around the region over the next 10 years.With more people choosing to walk, wheel or ride for everyday trips, the Strategy outlines how Council will deliver safer crossings, improved shared pathways and stronger connections between local schools, town centres and popular coastal destinations.Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said the Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Strategy is about creating safer streets and public spaces where people of all ages and abilities can move around independently and safely across the Central Coast.“Our community has told us that they want safer, more connected routes that are accessible for everyone," Mayor McKinna said.“We want to make it safer and easier for everyone to get around, whether you’re pushing a pram, using a mobility aid or hopping on a bike.

    Mayoral MinuteThe Mayoral Minute announcing the formal closure of the Performance Improvement Order (PIO) issued in September 2024 by the NSW Minister for Local Government was received and accepted by Council.Key Enabling Regional Projects documentCouncil endorsed the Central Coast Key Enabling Regional Projects – April 2026 document, which will be used for advocacy and shared with governments and their agencies, regional bodies and other appropriate groups to attract funding for infrastructure projects and support growth in the region.Red Bin Waste Collection service – planning for the futureIn considering the future Food Organics and Garden Organics services, Council adopted the recommendation to include the option of a weekly Red Bin waste collection service, and the option to opt into a fortnightly Red Bin collection service, as part of the tender process for the upcoming collection contract – noting it was important a decision was made now about what is included in the next tender to help inform costs.Draft Walking, Wheeling and Cycling StrategyThe draft Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Strategy, which consolidates previous active transport plans, and extensive engagement, was endorsed by Council to go on public exhibition for no less than 28 days.Adopt a Verge Program reportThe Adopt a Verge Program report was considered and further work will now be done in progressing designing a final program.Community Support Grant programCouncil approved $22,448.50 for community groups through Council’s Community Support Grant program  The meeting minutes will be available for viewing on Council’s website, once finalised and approved.
