Strategic land use planning documents (Strategies & Masterplans)

A masterplan is a highly detailed plan that aims to create a long term plan or vision for a neighbourhood, and focuses mostly on the built environment.
These are not statutory documents, however masterplans are often the basis for changes to planning controls to enable the vision of the masterplan to be delivered, such as changes to Development Control Plan chapters.

Strategies are broadly applicable documents that help shape the vision for the Central Coast region, and generally relate to a specific issue.
Structure Plans are moderately detailed plans that identify the preferred urban structure for a precinct.
These are not statutory documents, however Strategies and Structure Plans are often the basis for changes to planning controls such as land use zones.
