Central Coast Council, Mayor and Councillors

The Central Coast Council is represented by 15 Councillors who were elected for a 4-year term, until September 2028.
A Councillor’s role as an elected representative is to provide an essential link between the community and Council. Councillors must work as a team to make decisions and policies that guide the activities of the council.

    Central Coast rabbit owners are being urged to vaccinate their rabbits before 2 March wild rabbit control program

    A wild rabbit control program is set to take place across Greater Sydney Local Government Areas, including the Central Coast, on 2 March 2026.Led by Greater Sydney Local Land Services, Central Coast Council is participating in the program to release the Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV1-K5) — also known as Calicivirus — at seven locations on the Central Coast:Bush Street Reserve-Norah HeadKaragi PointShelly BeachUmina BeachDavistown ForeshoreWadalba Sporting Complex Ourimbah Football Club.At the same time, private landholders and other public land managers will release the virus across the region.Wild rabbits are Australia’s most destructive agricultural pest, causing severe competition for resources and land degradation.

    Harry Moore Oval osprey on the move

    Now that the sports lighting upgrade is complete at Harry Moore Oval, on Wednesday 18 February 2026 the resident eastern osprey and its nest is being relocated from the old timber lighting poles to the new light pole - designed specifically to support osprey nesting.Keen birdwatchers will be able to spot the osprey settling into its nest on the new pole, located in the southwestern corner of Field Two.Council recognises the importance of protecting local wildlife while delivering essential community infrastructure.
