While heading to the beach in the summertime is a way of life for many Coasties, for residents and visitors who are older and less mobile or who live with a disability, a trip to the beach can be challenging.As part of Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan (2017-2021), Council is committed to ensuring people with disabilities are fully included and participate in all aspects of community life.
Council is pleased to welcome the new members of its Access and Inclusion Reference Group (AIRG) for the 2020-2021 financial year. The Reference Group will provide guidance on the implementation of the final year of the current Disability Inclusion Action Plan and advise Council on the development of a new four-year Disability Inclusion Action Plan for 2021-2025.
Amazing young locals named in new Y4Y Action Team Council has named five new Y4Y (Youth For Youth) action team members, to represent young people on the Central Coast over the next 15 months.The newly appointed team members range from 14 to 24 years and include young people who live, work or study on the Central Coast.
Libraries are at the heart of creating liveable, connected and sustainable cities. The Gosford Regional Library is set to become a central meeting point for locals and visitors alike, creating a true drawcard to the city centre. The information collected during the consultation period will directly contribute to the development of local character statements which will influence future planning decisions. Council is undertaking embankment stabilisation work at Kincumba Mountain from Monday 29 November to Monday 20 December 2021 (including weekends) to restore road access through this popular reserve.
Council will be upgrading its property and rating systems for customers across the Coast including the online rate and water payment portal, property and water certificate requests and some planning and development tools – starting from 5pm Tuesday, 7 December 2021.The new and improved system will provide a central location for all rates payments, property applications and certificate requests – creating a more convenient, streamlined experience for our residents and ratepayers.While we are upgrading our systems, no rate or water payments will be able to be made via Council’s website or by phone from 5pm Tuesday 7 December to 9am Monday 20 December 2021.
Central Coast Council is undertaking construction of a new amenities building at Rogers Park, Woy Woy to provide improved sports infrastructure for the local community and sporting groups.Central Coast Council Director of Community and Recreation Services, Julie Vaughan said an upgraded sports amenities will meet the needs of the Peninsula’s growing community.“This new accessible sportsground amenities building will have ten toilets (male/female/unisex), an accessible toilet, a canteen with storage, two changerooms with showers, a referees’ room and three storage areas.” Ms Vaughan said.“Our community have told us they value sporting infrastructure for the benefits they bring to the community that use these facilities.
