Get Active – San Remo and Blue Haven
Get Active – San Remo and Blue Haven is back in 2023 supporting the San Remo and Blue Haven communities to be more physically active and increase awareness of local sport and active recreation providers, facilities, and opportunities. This initiative is a partnership between the Office of Sport, Central Coast Council and Central Coast Local Health District’s Health Promotion Service. Get Active San Remo and Blue Haven will see the creation of a calendar of activities offered throughout the month of October, providing a wide range of sport and recreation opportunities for everyone, from individuals to families, and people of all ages. If you provide – or would like to provide – sport, active recreation or physical activity opportunities in the San Remo, Blue Haven or surrounding suburbs, we would love to discuss this opportunity with you and help you to be involved. There are many benefits to being part of this project including increased awareness of your services in the community, contributing to improving the lives of community members, the potential to secure new participants and volunteers and the opportunity to gain a valuable insight into what the community is looking for in a sporting club or active recreation provider. The 2022 event saw 176 individual participation opportunities offered to the community from 35 different local providers. Interested in the project and want to know more?

Driving investment in our road infrastructure for 2023-24
A large percentage of Council’s operating budget is invested in roads, drainage, pathways and related infrastructure each year, but with extensive networks to manage and maintain, we can’t fund it alone. Council continues to advocate and secure grant funding from the Australian (Federal) and New South Wales (State) Governments to assist in the management and improvements of our vast networks.Council has been successful in securing grant funding under several Australian and New South Wales grant funding programs which is seeing extensive road repair and renewal works undertaken along with road and drainage upgrades, pathway projects, natural disaster remediation, public transport facilities, and safety improvements over the coming years.Additionally, Council utilises developer contribution funding to help fund road and drainage works.
