Delivering for our community: Key achievements in 2024–25

Throughout the 2024–25 financial year, we delivered a range of impactful projects and initiatives that reflect our commitment to improving services, infrastructure, and community wellbeing across the Central Coast.

Here are some of the highlights:

  • $41 million injected into the region through community events

Our community came together to celebrate life on the Central Coast through a vibrant calendar of festivals and events, including, Australia Day Events, Love Lanes Festival, Harvest Festival, New Year’s Eve Events, ChromeFest and Lakes Festival. These events attracted over 205,000 attendees and generated more than $41 million for the local economy.

  • Provided $765,134 in grants to Central Coast communities

Supporting local organisations to deliver events, programs and projects that enrich lives, activate spaces and provide services that respond to the needs of the community.

  • Collected over 26,000 tonnes of household recyclables

From yellow-lidded bins and public place recycling stations across the region, helping to divert valuable materials from landfill and support a more sustainable future.

  • Renewable energy generation at Council’s Waste Management Facilities

    • We captured 19,706,676 cubic meters of methane gas from landfill. Equivalent to 7,881 Olympic-sized swimming pools!
    • We generated 22,859,249 kWh of clean energy. Powering approximately 4,263 Central Coast households for a year!
    • We prevented 179,000 cubic meters of CO₂-equivalent gases from being released into the atmosphere. The same as removing 72,000 cars from the road!
  • Over 70,000 potholes filled

Pothole repairs are a short-term measure to ensure the road remains safe and fit for purpose, until more permanent repairs are undertaken.
