Senior services

Find information about the services available to seniors including the ongoing programs, activities and events run at centres located across the Central Coast.

With our beautiful natural environments and traditionally relaxed lifestyle, the Central Coast is home to many older residents who are vibrant, active and valued members of our local community. This has contributed positively to our identity and is something to be celebrated and appreciated.

Our older residents make a significant contribution to our community as Elders, workers, volunteers, neighbours, friends, parents and grandparents. They are a rich resource of knowledge, ideas and wisdom providing the advice, experience and support to our daily lives. They are valued as important community and cultural leaders.

Our  Positive Ageing Strategy aims to create an age-friendly community on the Central Coast which values, supports, and empowers older people to live active and fulfilling lives. The strategy is made up of four key themes:

Theme 1: Social Connections and Participation - Our older residents are connected and have opportunities to participate in, contribute to and be included in community life.

Theme 2: Being Better Informed and Tech Savvy - Our older residents are well informed and well-resourced as they age.

Theme 3: Staying Healthy and Active - Our older residents are encouraged to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle and can access health services.

Theme 4: Age-Friendly Places and Spaces - Our older residents feel welcome and can access public places and spaces, they can move easily and safely around the community and are supported to age in place.

Grandma Moses Art Competition & Exhibition

Grandma Moses Art Exhibition is an annual arts event that takes inspiration from the life and work of Anna Mary Robertson, better known as Grandma Moses, who became widely famous for her evocative paintings depicting American rural life, after taking up painting in her seventies. The competition has been running for more than three decades and celebrates the works of artists over 50 years of age who are residents of the Central Coast.

Check out the artistic talent of older people on the Central Coast at the 2022 Grandma Moses Art Exhibition. All entries to the 2022 competition will be on display to the public for two days.

When: Tuesday 8 - Thursday 10 March 2022, 10:30am - 3:30pm

Where: Gosford 50+ Leisure & Learning Centre, 217 Albany Street North, Gosford
