COVID19

The information on this page may not be correct during this unprecedented health event. Essential services are still being provided to the community, however many Council services and programs have been placed on hold while facilities and some open spaces are closed.
Our COVID-19 information area details all impacts to Council services, facilities and programs as well as the local response to coronavirus.

Older people play a vital role in our community and it is important to recognise and respect the significant contribution they make to our vibrant region as workers, volunteers, neighbours, friends, parents and grandparents. Central Coast Council is committed to helping older residents in our community lead healthy, active and independent lives as they age.

Our Positive Ageing Strategy aims to enhance participation, improve quality of life and provide support to older residents so they can lead healthy, active and independent lives as they age. The strategy is made up of six key priorities:

  • Staying Healthy: Provide opportunities to engage in and maintain a healthy lifestyle, as well as access quality and affordable health services.
  • Being Involved: Encourage older residents to actively participate in community life and feel valued for their contribution.
  • Getting Around: Ensure older residents can move easily and safely around the community.
  • My Community: Create spaces and places within our community that are age-friendly and support active ageing.
  • My Home: Assist older residents to remain in the home of their choice and inform them of available housing options as needs and/or circumstances change.
  • Transition and Support: Help older residents access services and support as they transition into retirement.

GOALL – Growing Older And Loving Life!

GOALL magazine celebrates the contribution and experience our seniors bring to the Central Coast community, their friends and extended families.
