We would like to inform the community about the temporary closure of Lake Haven Recreation Centre and Gravity Youth Centre due to an ongoing power outage.

A planned outage took place from Tuesday 29 April to Thursday 1 May to carry out essential repairs to the mains power supply. This work followed the discovery of a fault during Council’s recent upgrade to the main switchboard – an important project to ensure long-term safety and reliability.

Unfortunately, unexpected technical issues have made the situation more complex and extended the outage longer than originally planned. While the cause is beyond Council’s control, we know this impacts our members, and we’re doing everything we can to support a fast and safe resolution.

Current status
Power is expected to be restored by 4pm, Tuesday 6 May. We sincerely apologise for the ongoing inconvenience and thank our members and the broader community for their patience and understanding during this time.

What this means for our members

• Memberships remain temporarily suspended during the closure, and credits will be automatically applied to cover the full period of disruption.
• These credits will be processed retrospectively, so regular membership billing will continue in the interim.
• All regular activities, including group fitness classes, basketball and youth activities, remain paused until the facility reopens.
• Learn to Play and Game Skills Basketball Term 2 is still scheduled to commence on Thursday 8 May. Any pre-paid sessions affected will be reissued for use at a later date.
   

Council conducts regular checks to maintain the safety and reliability of our facilities, and while we strive to avoid interruptions, this issue has been unavoidable. We truly appreciate your patience and loyalty as we work through it.
