Memorial Tree

The Community Memorial Tree Project is a Central Coast Council initiative.

Community memorial trees contribute to the beautification of public spaces with minimal environmental impact. In doing so, they inspire community pride and strengthen connection between residents, their memories and the legacy of those who have come before.

Three community memorial trees have already installed at the Koolewong Foreshore and The Entrance North and at Noraville Cemetery.

Council plans to install an additional five trees over the next three months at suitable locations in the following suburbs:

    • Kariong
    • Avoca Beach
    • Mannering Park
    • Kanwal
    • East Gosford

There are 348 leaves on each tree. Individual leaves can be purchased by members of the community to have a bronze inscribed plaque installed in memory of a loved one. In this families and friends can memorialise a loved one in a place of special significance, perhaps because they lived nearby or perhaps because they have walked past on many occasions.

For further information about the proposed location of the five new trees, or to inquire about purchasing a memorial leaf in memory of a loved one, please contact the Cemeteries team via email cemeteries@centralcoast.nsw.gov.au or phone 4350 5108.
