Central Coast Council is seeking further community feedback on the revitalisation and activation of Toukley through the next phase of Let’s talk Toukley Town Centre. 

Council Director Connected Communities, Julie Vaughan said the community could have their say on draft concept plans for the Toukley Village Green developed with the help of their initial ideas and feedback.

“It’s time to talk all things Toukley again as we enter the next phase of Let’s talk Toukley Town Centre,” Ms Vaughan said.   

“In July 2018 we sought feedback on how to best bring Toukley to life, particularly through a redesign of the Village Green and by gathering feedback on the 2013 Toukley Masterplan to prioritise actions.

“We’ve listened to the community to develop draft concept plans for the Village Green and we are now seeking direct feedback on those plans.

“Community feedback on the Village Green overwhelmingly identified the need for a bigger and better play space and this is a key feature of the design we have developed.”

The next phase of Let’s talk Toukley Town Centre will also give community members an update on current projects including: 

• WiFi in the town centre 
• Toukley Library refurbishment to increase accessibility
• Additional parking for the Over 50s Leisure and Recreation Club
• Footpath upgrades at the Over 50s Leisure and Recreation Club
• Resurfacing of the Coles carpark.

Mayor Jane Smith said Council was committed to the development of Toukley as a town centre for the Central Coast.

“We are using a multifaceted approach to make Toukley a vibrant place to visit,” Mayor Smith said

“A key to that is listening to the local community and businesses to ensure we deliver what is wanted and needed.

“Toukley is a beautiful part of our region and with the right mix of sustainable development and initiatives we can boost not only tourism and economic development but community connections as well. 

The next phase of Let’s talk Toukley Town Centre will run from Monday 27 May to 16 June 2019.
