Central Coast Council is inviting residents of all ages and backgrounds to fill in a Community Wellbeing survey, to help understand the community’s perception of their own wellbeing and quality of life here on the Central Coast.

The survey is open until 10 May on Council’s online community engagement hub Your Voice Our Coast, yourvoiceourcoast.com/wellbeing

Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Melanie Smith said this survey will help Council drive strategic solutions to improve and support the local community’s wellbeing.

“Council has a key role in delivering and advocating for services, infrastructure and programs that connect our communities and make the Central Coast a great place to live,” Ms Smith said.

“Our Central Coast Community Wellbeing survey is asking local residents to rate how they feel on topics such as community connectiveness and support, their neighbourhood, personal safety, access to services and facilities, health and wellbeing – and generally living, playing, working, and growing on the Coast.

“The results from this survey will highlight where Council needs to focus efforts and plan future services and programs, as well as advocacy to other levels of government, to support community wellbeing and address local issues.  It also provides Council with a baseline of community sentiment following the global pandemic and current concerns such as the rising costs of living.

“This survey links into our Community Strategic Plan which guides how Council plans and delivers community services, facilities, and programs to meet community values and needs.

Council Administrator, Rik Hart said this survey ensures that the voice of the Central Coast community guides Council’s strategic planning and actions to support their wellbeing.

“I encourage everyone to participate in the survey.  We would like to hear from a wide range of local residents across the region so that the results reflect the diversity of our community, and helps us to understand everyone’s needs.

“A Community Wellbeing report will be presented back to the community and also to key organisations and local stakeholders that support community wellbeing on the Central Coast.”
