Safety upgrade for Donnison Street Rail Bridge in Gosford

Published On

24/05/2018

Transport for New South Wales and Sydney Trains will deliver a $1.3million safety upgrade of the Donnison Street Bridge near Gosford Train Station.

The project will require Donnison Street between Showground Road and Dane Drive to be closed to vehicles and pedestrians at all times from Sunday 27 May to Saturday 7 July 2018.

Works include installing new traffic barriers, resurfacing the road pavement, and installing ‘anti-throw screens’, which protect the railway from objects thrown or falling from the bridge.

Vehicles should follow detour signage and access the Gosford CBD through alternate streets such Dane Drive. Pedestrians should access Mann Street and the Gosford CBD through Gosford Station.

An intensive work period will take place over the June long weekend period to minimise impact on commuters and align works with a scheduled track closure of the Northern, Central Coast, North Shore and Hunter train lines.

Works will typically be conducted from 7am to 5pm except for the June long weekend period, when work will continue around the clock from 7am on Friday 8 June to 2pm on Tuesday 11 June.

If the community has any questions regarding the project they should call Transport for New South Wales on 131 500.
