Straight from the horse's mouth – Central Coast Council is proud to support the third annual Horses Birthday Festival on the Central Coast.

The 2018 Horses Birthday Festival is on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July at Glenworth Valley and celebrates the standardised birthday for every horse in the southern hemisphere (1 August).

Council Director, Connected Communities, Julie Vaughan said the Festival is an innovative, popular event that is unique in New South Wales.

“Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures is one of the Central Coast’s leading tourist attractions and the Horses Birthday Festival is a fun, unique event that helps position our region as a year-round holiday destination.” Ms Vaughan said.

“Council is proud to support these types of events that bring our community together and attract visitors to the Coast during the off-peak season to drive economic and tourism objectives for the region. Last year, visitors from both Sydney and Newcastle joined Central Coast residents at the Festival and we expect the event to be bigger and better this year.

“For the first time, this family-friendly event will run over two days and I invite all animal-lovers, horse-lovers, or anyone who enjoys a good party, to head to Glenworth Valley, share in the celebrations and have a little adventure.”

The Horses Birthday Festival will include a number of free activities for families with lead pony rides, a petting zoo, mini-horse shows by YouTube stars, Crunch and Lippy, a jumping castle, laser skirmish and a special birthday cake for the horses.

There will also be a variety of quality food vendors, beer & wine tastings, market stalls and live music over the two days.

Glenworth Valley Marketing and Sales Manager, Libby Bain said the horses’ birthday is an important date in the equine industry and the Horses Birthday Festival is a great way to celebrate this with the Coast community.

“Glenworth Valley is a family-owned and run business that has provided outstanding outdoor adventure experiences on the Coast for over 40 years.” Ms Bain said.

“We are passionate about horses, but we are also passionate about the Coast and the Horses’ Birthday Festival started from an idea to share something that was important to us with the community.

“Now in its third year, the Festival is the biggest birthday party on the Coast. We invite everyone to join in the activities, live music and market stalls and celebrate this special day for our four-hooved friends.”
