Central Coast Council will be holding a special memorial service next week, at Wamberal Cemetery, to honour mums who have passed on.

Mother's Day is a day to recognise and thank our mothers for the innumerable contributions they have made to our lives.

Mayor Jane Smith, who will be attending this memorial service, said that for some whose mothers have passed away, Mother’s Day can be a day of mixed emotions.

“All over the Central Coast, families will come together to celebrate Mother’s Day, and pay tribute to the women in their lives. For some, this means remembering those they have lost,” Mayor Smith said.

“As such, we will be hosting a special Mother’s Day memorial service with White Lady Funerals at Wamberal Cemetery.

“This free service will be an opportunity to stop for a moment, and take the time to remember our mums, our grandmas, and our aunties, as well as any other mother figures that have touched our lives and have passed on.

“Please join us, and make it a special day to remember.”

Council’s Mother’s Day Service will be held on Saturday 12 May from 11am at Wamberal Cemetery with light refreshments served after.

Last years’ service, held at Noraville Cemetery, was well received by the community and Council is hoping to make the service this year at Wamberal Cemetery just as memorable and special for everyone.

“Our cemeteries on the Central Coast provide families and friends with a peaceful place to remember and pay respects to their lost loved ones,” Mayor Jane Smith added.

“After the passing of a family member or friend, choosing a final resting place can be a difficult time.

“We have dedicated, compassionate and experienced Bereavement Officers available to assist families in memorialising their loved ones.”
