Central Coast Council will be holding a special memorial service on the eve of Father’s Day at Noraville Cemetery and Memorial Gardens to honour dads who have passed on.

Father's Day is a day to recognise and thank our fathers and grandfathers for the innumerable contributions they have made to our lives – the advice, dad jokes, stories, encouragement and love.

Mayor Jane Smith, who will be attending the memorial service, said that for those whose fathers have passed away, Father’s Day can be a day of mixed emotions.

“All over the Central Coast, families will come together to celebrate Father’s Day, and pay tribute to the men in their lives. For some, this means remembering those they have lost,” Mayor Smith said.

“As such, we will continue the tradition of hosting a special Father’s Day memorial service with Simplicity Funerals at Noraville Cemetery and Memorial Gardens.

“This will be an opportunity for us all to celebrate and reflect on the wonderful memories of dads, grandpas, uncles and any other father figures that have touched our lives and have passed on.

“Please join us to celebrate and give thanks for the memories and love of our dads, and make it a special day to remember.”

Council’s Father’s Day Service will be held on Saturday 1 September from 11am at Noraville Cemetery and Memorial Gardens with light refreshments served after.

For those who are wishing to attend the service, please RSVP by Monday 27 August by contacting Council's Bereavement Team on 4350 5108 or email cemeteries@centralcoast.nsw.gov.au.
