May Community Champion

On behalf of our community, I’d like to recognise Paula Hardwick for her significant efforts in helping others by acknowledging her as a Central Coast Community Champion.

Paula is s ‘Super Volunteer’. Her valuable support extends to a range of ages and needs, including delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, improving opportunities for women through Because We Care Boutique, helping those facing homelessness through Orange Sky, assisting people return to shore with Marine Rescue North Head, her work with Central Coast Family Support Services and no doubt more.

I was impressed to hear about the program you developed with Because We Care Boutique, ‘Frockin’ the Outback’, that donated thousands of dresses to women in country towns who were doing it tough. It’s initiatives like this that improve people’s quality of life and help build confidence.

It is fitting that she has received this acknowledgement during National Volunteer Week 2025, given her extensive volunteering efforts for many community organisations, and her Central Coast Volunteer of the Year award in 2024.

Through her genuine care, sincere compassion and concern for others, Paula is making a real difference to others and her selfless contribution is enriching lives and strengthening communities. Paula has our gratitude and appreciation.

I’d like to thank Councillor Castles and Councillor Walsh for celebrating with us and acknowledge Angela Lanser and Sarah Grey from Central Coast Family Support Services Inc. for nominating Paula.

Our Central Coast Community Champion initiative honours people who, through exceptional effort and commitment, make a difference to the lives of others.
