We are undertaking significant upgrades at Frost Reserve in Kincumber to enhance the facilities for our community. These improvements will include a brand-new skate park, a modern amenities building, a revamped carpark and upgraded sports field lighting. These projects will deliver improved sports infrastructure to meet the needs of Kincumber's growing community and support local sports groups. Works will commence from mid-2025 and will roll out in stages until completion in 2026.
Frost Reserve Skate Park
We're excited to announce an exciting upgrade to the skate park at Frost Reserve! The current facility is ageing and no longer meets the needs of our community. To address this, we are undertaking a major expansion, increasing the skate park's size from 200sqm to a 750sqm. Our goal is to create a bigger and better skate park with diverse features that cater to skaters and scooter riders of varying ages and abilities.
Thank you for having your say on the new skate parks design
From March to May 2025, we invited local skaters and scooter riders to help shape the design of the new skate park.
Engagement activities included:
- Design workshops
Two interactive sessions were held on 11 March 2025 at the Kincumba Mountain Kiosk, giving participants the chance to share their ideas and preferences for the new facility. - Online survey
From 11 March to 15 April 2025, the community shared detailed input through an online survey, including information on how they use the park, their skill levels, desired features and terrain, and even design ideas and sketches. - Draft design workshops
Using this feedback, draft concept designs were developed and presented at workshops on 29 April 2025, again at the Kincumba Mountain Kiosk. Participants had the opportunity to see how their input was reflected and provide further feedback. - Online draft design survey
From 1 May to 19 May 2025, an online survey gathered community responses to the draft design.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Your feedback played a key role in creating an awesome skate park that everyone can enjoy. Your ideas helped us design a space that reflects the community's passion and needs, ensuring a welcoming and exciting environment for all users.

The demolition of the existing skate park is scheduled for mid-2025 to make way for the new amenities building. Construction of the new skate park is expected to commence in late 2025 or early 2026, with completion in 2026.
Council is fully funding the design and build of the new skate park, demonstrating our commitment to providing quality recreational spaces for the community.

Amenities building, carpark and sports field lighting upgrades
In addition to the new skate park at Frost Reserve, we are also undertaking significant infrastructure upgrades, encompassing the amenities building, carpark and sports field lighting.
New sports amenities building
Construction is scheduled from September 2025 to early 2026. The new 370m2 building will feature four change rooms, a club room, unisex toilets, an ambulant toilet, a canteen with storage, a referees’ room and large storage areas. This building will be located on the site of the existing skate park, which will be demolished in May/June 2025. The current amenities building will remain in use until the new one opens.
Carpark upgrade
Works are planned from early 2026 to a to-be-confirmed date in 2026. The upgraded carpark will improve safety for both pedestrians and drivers.
Sports field lighting upgrade
This upgrade is scheduled for 2026 and will involve the installation of new lighting that will enhance the usability and safety of the sports field, especially during the winter months.
Collectively, these upgrades will improve the sports facilities at Frost Reserve, meeting the needs of Kincumber's growing community and supporting local sports groups such as Central Coast Football and Kincumber Roos Football Club.
Council remains dedicated to delivering and maintaining high-quality sports facilities that provide a range of health and wellness benefits for the Central Coast community.
