Let’s talk Toukley Town Centre

To make Toukley Town Centre a more vibrant place to visit and spend time, Central Coast Council is looking to the local community for ideas and feedback on two different projects – the redesign of the Village Green and the reconfiguration of the Coles carpark.

Mayor Jane Smith said that the successful delivery of these two projects will not only improve public spaces within the town centre, but it will also be a large step towards activating Toukley.

“By relocating the existing amenity block from the Village Green to the Coles carpark, we will have a great new space that we can activate for our local residents and visitors.

“As such, we would like to hear from the community about their ideas on what they want to see in this new Village Green space, so it will be a place designed by the community, for the community.

“The second project is the reconfiguration of the Coles carpark, making it safer for pedestrians. We’re calling on the local community to provide us with their feedback on our preliminary plans to reconfigure this space.”

Mayor Jane Smith added that community members also have the opportunity to voice their opinion about the entire Toukley Town Centre via a survey.

“Having the community fill in this survey allows us to update, prioritise and continue to deliver projects and activities we identified in the 2013 Toukley Town Centre Masterplan and in turn inform our future works programs and capital works budgets.”

“We value feedback from the community on such projects, so please make sure you have your say.”

Community members can have their say on these two projects, and complete the survey, by visiting www.yourvoiceourcoast.com. They can also have their say at one of our pop up stalls:

  • The Village Green: 23 August, 9am-11am
  • Toukley Markets: 26 August, from 7am-1pm

Consultation on these projects closes on Wednesday 5 September.
