Explore hidden gems and discover forgotten laneways when the Gallery Precinct 2259 Love Lanes Festival showcases Wyong in a new light.

Festivalgoers to the inaugural event will be able to immerse themselves in the abundance of colour, sounds, and smells of this unique outdoor festival on Saturday 11 February 2017.

Three laneways in the town centre of Wyong will be transformed for one afternoon — nothing like you’ve ever seen before.

There will be live entertainment, aerial circus performances, live art, free kids’ activities, great food, markets stalls and much more including strange creatures set to excite the crowd, as interactive street performers make their way through the festival.

See Wyong come to life on Saturday 11 February from 4pm–10pm at:

  • Grand Hotel Lane (Robley’s Lane) will feature aerial circus performances, ‘La Toosh,’ tunes on the stage, a licensed bar area, as well as an outdoor cinema from 8.15pm on the Chapman Building Lawn.
  • Coastwide First National Lane (Alison Road) will offer tastings from Wyong’s local favourites: delicious street food and retail stalls all under the twinkling lights of the piazza. The main stage also has a great line-up of bands, as well as a dining area and chill out zone with bean bags and cushions for festivalgoers to sit back and enjoy the live entertainment. Fishbowl Arcade will have performers entertaining the crowds from behind the glass.
  • Holiday Park Lane (Bakers Lane) will have visitors mesmerised by the live art activation where you can witness masterpieces come to life. The Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) stage will keep the festival going with live entertainment all evening or you could relax in the chill out zone. There is a WHOOSH Kids Zone where all activities are FREE —jumping castle, face painting, balloon art, craft, yard games and much more. Additionally, there is a zone for teenagers that includes a free rock climbing wall, skate ramp and games area.
  • From Wyong with Love is being hosted by the new business in town, Common Ground. Indulge in the VIP dinner package and spoil that someone special. The evening includes food and matching wines, as well as an insight into the offerings of the local area.

Discover the history of Wyong at the festival
The Love Lanes PopUp Museum will be another feature of the festival.

Historic storyboards will be on display in the Gallery Precinct Arcade showcasing the pioneering families of Alison, Robley, Baker and Chapman — namesakes for the historic laneways around which the festival is based.

The display also captures the cultural, community and economic development history of Wyong CBD.

Make sure you take the time to talk to the volunteers from the Wyong Family History Group, who will be on hand throughout the evening to answer any questions and share information.

Don’t worry if you miss the pop-up museum - the storyboard will be on display until March.
