Central Coast Council have commenced upgrade works to the public amenity buildings at Forresters Beach and Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club.

Council Director Connected Communities, Julie Vaughan said the two projects are located at popular locations and will benefit the wider community.

“Both locations will benefit from a refresh and updated amenities. Especially Terrigal which is a popular tourist destination and often hosts many sporting events,” Ms Vaughan said.

“The existing public toilets at Kalakau Avenue in Forresters Beach have been demolished, and a new amenity building is being constructed that allows better accessibility.

“The new structure will include two unisex accessible toilets, a unisex ambulant toilet, one male and one female toilet, as well as an outdoor beach shower. It will be completed by end of November 2019.

“The public toilets and change rooms at Terrigal Beach will be refurbished with works underway until 30 September 2019.”

Mayor Jane Smith said both upgrades have been made possible through partnership with the NSW Government.

“Both projects are being funded through the Stronger Communities Fund and will allow Council to provide improved services and facilities for the community.

“Council is grateful for the $203,500 to upgrade Forresters Beach and $240,000 Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club provided by the State Government.”

Temporary amenities have been setup at each location while these important works are underway.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the NSW Government was proud to have fully funded the amenities improvements.

“Our strong NSW budget means the NSW Liberal Government can provide a total of $443,500 towards these projects,” Mr Crouch said.

“For a number of years, local residents from the Terrigal and Forresters Beach communities have raised these projects with me as a matter of priority.

“I look forward to Council getting on with the job and delivering these essential toilet upgrades.”
