Central Coast Council is saddened to learn of the decision by Long Jetty Street Festival organisers to cancel this year’s event.

At next Tuesday night’s meeting Council will consider a recommendation to fund the 2018 Long Jetty Street Festival $20,562.25 from its Community Grants Program. The organisers were made aware of this recommendation three weeks ago.

Council is very supportive of community events and festivals and recognises the role they play in celebrating local identity and providing opportunities for social connections and interaction. In the current financial year, Council has recommended in excess of half a million dollars to more than 60 local festivals and events through its Community Grants and Sponsorship Programs.
