Central Coast Council has announced its October school holiday program with a wide range of fun and interactive activities for kids of all ages.

The popular program includes both free and ticketed activities that kids can enjoy across the Coast. All events can be found on Council’s dedicated school holiday webpage that enables parents to search for activities by date, location and age – making it easier than ever to discover things to do these holidays.

What's On for our Youth

Council’s Youth Services team have developed another dynamic program of free activities these holidays including the return of the popular Bowl Groms’ skate skills workshops to be held at the Bato Yard in Bateau Bay. Three professional skills development workshops are also on offer to help young people improve their job interviewing and job application skills or take their first step into an exciting hospitality career by obtaining their Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.

What's On at our Leisure Centres

Council’s Leisure Centres have lots of swimming and fun sporting activities these holidays to help kids burn off some energy! Council’s pools will be offering a variety of swimming programs to help youngsters improve their skills in the water, while the sport centres will host a kids’ yoga class, two basketball clinics for juniors and teens, as well as a fun session with obstacle courses, slides and jumping castles!

What's On at our Town Centres

Fun and free activities are the name of the game these holidays! Bring the kids down to Kibble Park in Gosford to meet the gang from the hit TV show dirtgirlworld, play mobile video games, have a go at Hover S.A.F.E archery and more. At The Entrance, come and see the Thomas & Friends Stage Show or join in the range of other activities including storytime with Parker the Platypus, a fossil dinosaur workshop, amusement rides and daily pelican feeding from 3.30pm. In Toukley, kids can enjoy the Smurfs - The Lost World show and an inflatable obstacle course, or get up close to a range of animals with a Kindifarm and live reptile show. The kids will enjoy the activities in Wyong, with rock wall climbing, a 9D cinema plus more. The Central Coast is the place to be these school holidays!

What's On across our Libraries

With more than 35 free events, Council’s Libraries are the place to be for fun and learning these school holidays! Kids can enjoy a pat and cuddle with the Spring Animals Petting Zoo, learn to make a clay critter, a zine, a dog toy and pretty paper flowers, or take the robotics challenge to learn basic coding skills using Sphero robots. Plus, there are a range of Green Living Kids workshops to inspire junior green thumbs, a Hogwarts Wizard Tournament for Harry Potter fans, and much more!

What's On at Gosford Regional Gallery

Kids can explore their artistic side at the Gosford Regional Gallery these holidays while you enjoy a coffee or even a tour of the Edogawa Commemorative Gardens. They can learn to create a mini food collection using clay, weave their very own woven wall hanging, use recycled fabrics to create colourful Pom Pom flowers, immerse themselves in Indigenous culture by decorating a boomerang or creating an Aboriginal style painting – and much more!
