This Christmas, You Just Can’t Beat Being Out on Central Coast Waters!

A day out on the water with Tim Conway at Central Coast Ferries and his friendly companion Milo the chocolate Labrador is a day to remember.

Tim is a seventh generation ship’s captain whose family has been operating ferry services on Central Coast waters for 25 years.

With the opportunity to be on the water every day, well, Tim nails it when he says "there’s something about being on the water – the sights and smells. You just can’t beat it”!

The affable Coastie is one of the loved locals promoting the Central Coast in the This is the life marketing campaign.

Tim has a huge passion for the area. He lives in Davistown and says the best things about living on the Coast are the beautiful pristine waterways and the community spirit.

“These two things are a constant even as the Central Coast “grows up” as a region,” he says.

“Over the last few years I’ve noticed a lot more young families moving into the area for the lifestyle, and as you cruise around you can see the amount of renovation and building of new waterfront homes that is part of the transformation the Central Coast is going through.”

“We’re also seeing an increase in both locals and out-of- towners getting out on the water.

“For instance I’ve just dropped off a big group of visitors to the area who just couldn’t stop saying how beautiful and pristine the water is and how they didn’t realise the extent of the waterways.

“Today I’ve also just ferried a group of local ladies out for a Christmas lunch party at Davistown – it’s a great way to socialise and we doing a lot more water transfers for Christmas parties,” Tim says.

Tim’s advice to anyone who hasn’t been to the Central Coast yet?

“Get to the Coast and check it out for yourself, you don’t know what you are missing!  It really is ‘the life’ on the Central Coast.”
