Council is improving the Umina Beach foreshore promenade area to create a more vibrant, sustainable and enjoyable space for both residents and visitors.

The comprehensive landscape works encompass a range of enhancements, including the removal of existing pavers to create a grassed area for relaxation and recreation, the planting of additional trees for shade and to contribute to a healthy environment, replacement of outdoor showers, and new connective pathways to improve accessibility so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of Umina Beach.  These works will soften the existing landscape and provide a greener space for relaxation and recreation.

These works are due to commence Monday 12 February for a period of approximately 4 weeks (weather permitting).  To minimise disruption, these works have been scheduled to commence after the school holidays and peak summer holiday period.

During the construction stage, the outdoor showers on the site won’t be available for a short period, however the adjacent amenities building with public toilets and shower facilities will remain operational. An outdoor shower is located on the northeastern side of the Surf Club.

These landscape improvement works will not impinge the sensitive dune vegetation area adjoining the site.

This project is funded by local infrastructure contributions (section 7.11), which are charged by Council when new development occurs.
