11/10/2024We’re undertaking a project to improve the Warren Avenue lookout in Avoca Beach and are seeking community feedback to help determine key decisions regarding the future of the lookout.
The viewing platform is currently unsafe and poses a potential hazard to the public. To ensure everyone's safety, the platform will be demolished.
Share your thoughts with us on the future of the platform – do you want it replaced, or would you prefer an unobstructed view of Avoca Beach through vegetation management?
Your feedback will directly influence two key decisions:
- Whether a replacement lookout is built.
- The design of a replacement lookout, including features like lighting, accessibility and seating.

Update January 2025
Based on your feedback, Council will now proceed with the demolition of the existing lookout, which is expected to take place in early 2025.
Following demolition, Council will seek budget for a replacement viewing platform, with the aim to construct during the 2025-26 Financial Year.
Your input will help us to create a design that meets community needs by identifying users and planning for the future. Council will now finalise this proposal incorporating your feedback, and will then inform the community of the finalised plans.
