Help design the new skate park at Frost Reserve, Kincumber
scooter and skateboarder

Now is the time for local skaters and scooter riders to help design an upgraded skate park at Frost Reserve, Kincumber by attending a design workshop with specialist skate park designers and providing your thoughts through an online survey at yourvoiceourcoast.com

The existing skate park is at the end of its life and ready for a larger modern facility to meet the needs of the community and growing number of families in this area.  The skate park will be increasing in size (from 200sqm to 750sqm).

We want to ensure our community has to chance to tell us what they want they want to see in the new design, including the style, layout, components, and which wheels you want to ride on.

Your feedback will then be used to create draft concept designs, and we will then present back to you to see if we got it right.

The online survey is live until 30 April 2025 at yourvoiceourcoast.com

Attend one of the first design workshop sessions:

  • Date: Tuesday 11 March 2025
    Session 1:  3.30pm-5pm
    Session 2:  5.30pm-7pm
Location: Kincumba Mountain Kiosk (Kincumber Mountain, Island View Dr)

Can’t make this date? Don’t worry, as additional workshop opportunities are currently being planned and will be promoted soon.

The new skate park is one stage of upgrade works at Frost Oval, with a new amenities building and carpark starting construction this year, and upgrades to the sports field lighting in 2026.

Council is funding the design and build of the new skate park, with construction anticipated to commence late 2025, with completion in 2026. The existing skate park will be demolished in May 2025 to make way for the location of new amenities building.

Council invests in purpose built, safe and engaging skate parks and recreation areas because of the many community benefits these facilities provide (including the promotion of healthy active lifestyles and connection with others in the community) and to meet the growing popularity of skateboarding and scootering across widening age groups, genders and abilities.
