    10 playspace renewals scheduled for the Coast
    We’re renewing ten playspaces across the Central Coast, unlocking the full potential of the facility by making way for improved and accessible playspaces for locals and visitors alike.Council’s planned upgrades ensure these community assets are maintained through a renewal program with regular reviews and a programmed schedule of works to maintain, upgrade and – where necessary - remove old, vandalised, or broken equipment.The ten locations will see $1.1 million of upgrades commencing February - April 2024.Playspace locations and renewal works:•

    Council to commence pre-emptive works at The Entrance channel
    With the end of the busy summer holiday period, and the departure of migratory Little Terns from the Karangi sand spit, Central Coast Council will commence the next stage of works this month at The Entrance channel to ensure it is in an appropriate ‘flood ready’ state, by establishing a pilot channel.Council currently monitors the channel condition in real time (via remote cameras, satellite imagery and gauges, that monitor tidal range within the estuary) and forecasts catchment inflows and lake heights.

    Unlocking playspace potential - 10 playspace renewals scheduled for the Coast
    Ten locations across the Central Coast are receiving a playspace renewal, making way for improved and accessible playspaces for locals and visitors.The ten locations will see $1.1 million of upgrades that have commenced February and are estimated to be complete by April 2024.

    In consultation with the Department of Education and School community footpath improvements in Dudley St adjacent to Gorokan Public School are now complete and has improved safety and accessibility for pedestrians, particularly young school children and care givers.

    Works notice: safety barrier upgrade on St Huberts Island Bridge
    What’s happening?Work to install a barrier fence upgrade on St Huberts Island bridge (Helmsman Boulevarde), which includes the removal of the existing barrier fence and installation of the modern design safety barrier. The installation of this new infrastructure is to improve community safety.
