Administrator’s message – North Avoca Paths project completed in time for summer
North Avoca Paths project completed November 2023

Council has completed the North Avoca Paths project, which has delivered a safer network of footpaths for locals and visitors walking, cycling or driving between three busy streets in North Avoca.

The new pathways in View Street, Tramway Road and Elgata Avenue will provide increased connectivity and accessibility, while promoting active lifestyles which are important for community health and wellbeing.

The project also included street drainage works, new road pavement and kerb and gutter, which have improved critical infrastructure in the area.

It was great for Council to consult and work alongside the community on this project, which was an important factor when planning the works.

I visited North Avoca earlier this month alongside Federal MP, Dr Gordon Reid, and Council’s Director of Infrastructure Services, Boris Bolgoff, to check out the revitalised infrastructure.

This project was made possible by a $4.3M grant from the Australian Government, while Council contributed just over $1M.

I’d like to thank the Federal Government for their financial support of this project and look forward to advocating to our Federal MPs to secure more funding in the future for the betterment of the community.
