Administrator’s Message – Stats show a bumper summer tourist season across the Coast

The stats are in: The Central Coast remains a beloved summer tourist destination!

Thousands of visitors have flocked to our beaches, national parks, town centres and events to enjoy the Coast’s beautiful natural assets and local offerings throughout the summer season.

As the skies cleared after a wet 2022, almost 40,000 people attended a programmed Council event over the summer period, including New Year’s Eve at The Entrance, Australia Day Community Event in Gosford, and Council’s Social Spaces events across our town centres.

Tourism provides a major boost to the local economy, with more than 5,000 people directly employed by the Central Coast tourism industry. A staggering $1 billion was injected into the Coast in the year-to-June 2022, with millions more expected to provide a needed boost to local businesses from this bumper summer season.

I am particularly pleased these healthy visitation numbers haven’t compromised the Central Coast’s focus on eco-tourism, with many people making a conscious decision to travel to more sustainable destinations like our many eco-certified experiences and natural assets on the Coast.

While summer draws to a close, 2023 is packed with events like the Harvest Festival, Central Coast Music Festival and The Lakes Festival, plus some fantastic year-round experiences to enjoy. For more info, visit LoveCentralCoast.com
