Administrator’s message – Check out the new Visitor Information Centre, now open!

It was great to check out the renewed Visitor Information Centre at The Entrance this week! The revitalised, interactive facility opened on Thursday 6 April, just in time for the Easter long weekend.

The Entrance is one of the Coast’s most popular tourist destinations and prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the previous Centre welcomed 27,600 visitors through its doors each year.

The new facility is multipurpose, more accessible, incorporates an improved layout and outdoor space for public use, includes a dedicated space for local creatives, has a bookable function area with a modern event space, and much more.

Council prioritised this important project to not only respond to what the local community tells us they want, but to also help drive tourism and economic spend, and importantly, to create a year-round space for all locals to enjoy.

Whether you’re a local or visitor to the region, the renewed Centre provides great information about all there is to do and see across the Coast and is expected to help increase the uptake of day trips, overnight stays and subsequent spend by visitors across the region.

Supported by the Federal Government, the new facilities will better meet the needs of our growing community and tourism sector.
