Council is continuing to improve accessibility for public transport users through our Bus Stop Improvement Program.We are improving access at 43 bus stops this financial year, including locations at Bateau Bay, Booker Bay, East Gosford, Erina, Ettalong Beach, Hamlyn Terrace, Gorokan, Noraville, Mardi and Springfield. Works at each site will include the installation of a new concrete boarding pad, tactile markers, or a link to an existing footpath or installation of a pedestrian ramp.
We have developed a draft Central Coast Open Space Strategy, which is now on public exhibition for community feedback until 20 September.The strategy (2024-31) identifies sport and recreation action plans that need to be reviewed or developed to ensure that sport, recreation and physical activity opportunities on the Central Coast will be well planned and actioned in a timely manner.With the anticipated population growth expected for the Central Coast, this framework will provide for the supply and development of adequate open spaces, such as parks, reserves and sportsgrounds, and ensure they are well-designed, inclusive, and accessible.

With 9 coasties attending the Paris Olympics, there is no better time to inspire kids on the coast to be active and follow their passions. The Mini Olympics event was held for our Olympians in the making - kids enrolled in council’s swim and sport programs across Peninsula Leisure Centre, Gosford Olympic Pool, Toukley Aquatic Centre, and Lake Haven Recreation Centre.
