Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for up to $30,000 in funding for community projects in Summerland Point, Gwandalan, Chain Valley Bay and Mannering Park, as part of the Chain Valley Colliery Community Funding Program. The program opens on 1 August and closes on 31 August 2023.

Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Melanie Smith said the funding program is a joint initiative between Central Coast Council, Delta Coal and local communities to build community capacity in selected suburbs.

“This year’s funding program has an allocation of $65,000 to support the communities of Summerland Point, Gwandalan, Chain Valley Bay and Mannering Park to deliver projects that improve community infrastructure and services,” Ms Smith said.

“Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to help bring their big ideas to life.

“Projects that were funded in last year’s program include Mannering Park Parents and Citizen Association, the Colour Run initiative, Lions Club of Gwandalan Lioness Incorporated, refurbishment of History Sign on Kanangra Drive, Gwandalan and Road Safety Education Limited, and RYDA Road Safety Programs for Lake Munmorah High School.

“Free grant information sessions will also be available this July to support community members through the application process. I encourage anyone interested in applying and looking at ways to strengthen their application to register to attend an information session.”

Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart said this is a great initiative that supports local groups to deliver valuable community programs.

“We have seen many beneficial projects funded and delivered throughout the years under this initiative, and I look forward to seeing what innovative projects will be funded this year,” Mr Hart said

• Face-to-Face session - Thursday 27 August 2023, 10-11.30am, Function Room at Council’s Wyong Administration Building

Applications open on Tuesday 1 August until 12pm on Thursday 31 August 2023.
