Households all over the Central Coast are gearing up to make the Coast the biggest Garage Sale Trail yet.

The Garage Sale Trail is an annual event encouraging locals to participate in the biggest reuse, recycle and environmentally sustainable Garage Sale in Australia. This year’s event is on 22 October.

Council is calling all community groups, charity groups, sellers, buyers and creators to join with hundreds of Australians to register their garage sale now. The Garage Sale trail will also help reduce the amount of waste being dumped into Central Coast’s landfill.

Council’s Administrator, Mr Ian Reynolds, is calling on the Central Coast community to help create a people powered reuse movement to create more sustainable living on the Coast.

“We have had a great response from our community so far putting the Central Coast in the top ten in Australia for registered sales for this campaign,” said Mr Reynolds.

“It is really encouraging to see our residents embrace this opportunity to reuse and recycle their household goods and positively impact on our environment.

“We expect thousands of shoppers to hit the streets in search of treasure so it’s time to start cleaning out all that clutter, get involved and make some extra cash.

“This event is a great way to meet local people and turn every day actions like buying and selling into a fun activity with positive sustainable community impacts.”
