Central Coast Council is ranked second in Australia for registered sales in the Garage Sale Trail and the race is on.

The Garage Sale Trail is an annual event encouraging locals to participate in the biggest reuse, recycle and environmentally sustainable Garage Sale in Australia.

Council’s Administrator, Mr Ian Reynolds, said the Coast is really behind this event and to be second in Australia is a great result.

“The response to this garage sale has been fantastic so far and it just shows how important sustainability and the environment is to the Central Coast community,” Mr Reynolds said.

“At the moment, there is only 27 sales difference between Brisbane and the Central Coast.

“Council would love to make the Central Coast the most sustainable region in Australia.

“This event not only connects our community but has a positive impact on our economy bringing in extra dollars for our locals.

“Thousands of residents on the Coast were involved last year and we are expecting this year to be even bigger.

“The positive impact this event has on reducing the amount of waste going into landfill is positive for our environment and we appreciate the Coast’s residents support so far.

“So come on Central Coast, let’s beat the Queenslanders and be number one in Australia.”
