Improving Our Local Play Areas

Playgrounds and play spaces provide a creative space for children to use their imagination, and keep active in a fun environment with family and friends.

We are creating a range of different playgrounds and play spaces to suit our community’s needs by upgrading existing facilities, and improving the quality of life of our community.

In May and June, work is about to start on play spaces at:

  • Bayside Drive, Green Point
  • Jarrah Drive, Kariong
  • Cambourne Dr Reserve, Lisarow
  • Long Jetty Foreshore Reserve (nearest to the Long Jetty)
  • Earl Street Reserve, Shelly Beach
  • Mahogany Place, Springfield
  • Cowper Road Reserve, Umina
  • Pangari Reserve, Wyoming

Through a Family and Community Services grant (Social Housing Community Improvement Fund) we will also be making improvements to play spaces in Owen Avenue Reserve, Wyong; Avery Street Reserve, Killarney Vale; and Woodward Avenue Reserve, Wyong; as well as Charmhaven Park through a Community Development Grant.

We have also already completed a number of other play spaces and playgrounds across the Coast. Check out the new equipment at:

  • Ross Park, Avoca
  • Trafalgar Avenue, Blackwall
  • Mulloway Road Reserve, Chain Valley Bay North
  • Cheero Point Park
  • Dean Avenue Reserve, Kanwal
  • Gwandalan Lioness Park
  • Nullawa Park, Kariong
  • Broadwater Park, Kincumber
  • Lake Haven Rec Centre
  • Sullens Avenue, Springfield
  • Tuesday Street Reserve,  Tuggerawong
  • Rysdyk Parade, Wamberal
