21/05/2025The celebrations are far from over for the Central Coast Mariners, with Central Coast Council set to host a public Civic Reception for the A-League Women’s team at Mingara Event Centre from 5.45pm on Friday 23 May!
This free event is open to the entire community and offers fans the chance to come together and re-live the Mariners’ incredible A-League Women’s Championship win on Sunday 18 May.
Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said Council is thrilled to be recognising the Mariners’ remarkable achievement and expects a fantastic turnout.
"I watched the live stream at the stadium on Sunday, surrounded by proud Coasties, and the atmosphere was electric! What the team has achieved, especially only two years after re-joining the competition, is nothing short of amazing," Mayor McKinna said.
"Their win sparked a huge sense of joy and pride across the Coast, and it’s only fitting we mark this historic moment with a celebration that brings the whole community together.
"This Civic Reception is our chance to formally honour the Mariners women’s team with a Key to the Coast and give locals the opportunity to meet the players, get photos and congratulate them in person. It’s going to be a really special evening for the whole community."
Central Coast Mariners CEO, Greg Brownlow said he is thrilled that the Central Coast Mariners Women lifted the Ninja A-League Championship in the most dramatic fashion at AAMI Park last Sunday.
"I had the absolute pleasure of being at the game and the honour of joining Emily, the team, and the CCM staff on the field moments after the winning penalty was scored," Greg Brownlow said.
"It was an outstanding achievement and a testament to the dedication and spirit of this incredible team. We’re immensely proud of our Central Coast fan base and proud to be part of such a passionate and united community."
