Projects that support our growth

As our region grows, we’re working hard to ensure we have everything we need to support that growth.

We’re investing in the future by planning for, and delivering, major infrastructure projects that will enable us to manage our growth efficiently and effectively.

The new Gosford Regional Library is a shining example of a project that takes a long view of service delivery with a community space that’s delighting and inspiring people now, yet is designed to meet future needs for digital services and innovation.

Completing the final stage of the Tuggerawong Foreshore shared pathway will boost connectivity for residents by improving access to local shops, play spaces and schools, while taking an important step towards completing the full loop around the scenic Tuggerah Lake to serve the future community.

We’ve committed to building a brand-new Regional Animal Care facility at Mardi that acknowledges our existing services at Erina and Charmhaven will need more support as more people choose to call the Central Coast home.

And the $82.5 million Mardi Water Treatment Plant improvement project and $144M Charmhaven Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade have been carefully planned to ensure we have fully functional essential services in place to serve both new and existing residents and businesses as we grow.

Council has also developed a list of key enabling projects that, if funded, will support growth across our entire region. We’re currently reviewing these to ensure they align with changing community priorities for housing, jobs, transport, recreation and the environment, and we’re seeking partnerships to ensure these region-building projects can be delivered.

Very soon, we’ll be working hand-in-hand with our community on the projects we’ll deliver in the next financial year, and we’ll be asking you to have your say on what we’ve proposed.

Rest assured, we’re committed to creating a Central Coast that is capable of managing growth and fully prepared for the future.
