Deb is a true Community Champion

26/11/2025Deb Christian is our newest Central Coast Community Champion after being nominated for her voluntary support of women doing residential programs at The Glen.
Deb became involved with The Glen, a rehabilitation centre in Yarramalong, after her daughter completed the program there.
For Deb, the greatest gift was having her daughter home, safe, healthy, and thriving. That experience ignited a deep connection to The Glen and its mission to empower women to be leaders in their own lives.
Since then, Deb has become an integral part of the lives of the women at The Glen. She offers a safe and comforting presence during their most vulnerable moments, is a trusted confidante, and a fierce advocate who stands beside people.
Her unwavering support and warmth have earned her the affectionate titles of Mum Deb, Aunt, or Nan.
For Deb, giving back to the place she credits with saving her daughter and reconnecting her family is an honour. Being embraced and loved by the women she supports is, in her words, ‘the greatest gift of all’.
The Glen’s values include honesty, respect, love, transparency, accountability and that actions are louder than words. They believe in community and connection, and Deb embodies those values daily.
Our Central Coast Community Champion initiative honours people who, through exceptional effort and commitment, make a difference to the lives of others.
I’m sure you’ll agree that Deb is a very worthy Community Champion, and she has our gratitude and appreciation.
