Council launches priority projects to support the Coast’s future
Recently, we launched our Key Enabling Projects 2026: Central Coast Region document, outlining the priority projects we need to support our region’s future growth.
This is an important step for the Central Coast. It sets a clear direction for the infrastructure, housing and services our growing community will need in the years ahead.
Importantly, these projects are not yet funded. This document is about setting clear priorities and strengthening our case to State and Federal Government for the investment our region needs.
The Central Coast is one of the fastest growing regions in NSW, and with that growth comes increasing demand for housing, health services, transport networks and community infrastructure.
With a population of more than 360,000 people, and expected to grow significantly in the coming decades, we know the pressures on our infrastructure will only increase.
That’s why planning ahead is so important. By identifying the right projects now, we can advocate strongly for funding that supports jobs, improves connectivity and ensures the Central Coast remains a great place to live, work and invest.
Partnerships will be key to achieving this. We’ve already seen what can be achieved when Council, government and industry work together, and this document builds on that momentum.
We’re proud to have the support of Business NSW Central Coast and Regional Development Australia Central Coast in this work. The document highlights key priority areas including revitalising Gosford City Centre, unlocking the Northern Growth Corridor, upgrading transport and connectivity, supporting environmental sustainability and increasing affordable housing.
For us, this is about more than a list of projects. It’s about making sure we have the right infrastructure in place to support our community as it grows.
By working together, we can secure the investment our region needs to thrive, build a resilient economy, and ensure the Central Coast continues to be a connected and sustainable place for generations to come.
