    Central Coast Council Water and Sewer is working with the State Government to act quickly in removing Salvinia weed recently identified on Wyong River.Salvinia is a free-floating weed that thrives in warmer weather forming dense mats of vegetation on water surfaces.

    Second information session for prospective Central Coast Councillor candidates 9 April 2024
    The second information session for community members interested in nominating as candidates for the upcoming Central Coast Council election, will be held on Tuesday 9 April 2024 at Council’s Wyong Administration Building.With the 2024 Local Government elections to be held on 14 September, Central Coast Council is urging interested community members to take the opportunity to attend this information session, to get an insight into  what is required to be a councillor and the role of a governing body.The first information session was held in October 2023 and attracted approximately 70 attendees, with materials available from this session on Council's website.

    Administrator’s message – Registration now open for Candidate Information Session 2
    Council is hosting the second pre-election candidate information session for people who may be interested in becoming a councillor, with registrations now open. On Tuesday 9 April 2024, Council will host the public information session at the Wyong Administration Building, 2 Hely Street, Wyong, NSW 2259. Kicking off at 5.30pm for a 6pm start, the session will provide information, insights and resources for prospective candidates with presentations from guest speakers and local government experts. Session two will cover the following topics:About Central Coast Council – what has been achieved while under Administration, including Council actions in response to the recommendations of the Public InquiryInformation about the constitutional referendum being held on 14 September 2024Navigating the political context of being a councillorInformation on planning an election campaign (budget, marketing, procedural steps etc.) and steps involved in preparing to run for electionA day in the life of a councillor – what to expect once electedLegislative responsibilities and obligations of councillors and what it means to be part of the governing bodyA brief overview of Council’s leadership structure and information about how councillors can appropriately interact with Council staff. To register for pre-election candidate information session two, follow this link:

    Opportunities now available for sponsorship of major events across the Coast 2025-2026
    Central Coast Council has opened expressions of interest (EOI) for the sponsorship of six major community events featured across the region in 2025-2026.The Sponsorship Prospectus presents enticing packages for each of the events, giving potential businesses a great way to promote their organisation to a large, targeted audience, whilst directly supporting the local community.The EOI period is open for six weeks from 18 March - 3 May 2024.
