True Nature is an exhibition of photographs at the Gosford Hospital by local artist Reed Plummer. Reed is a landscape photographer and owner of Central Coast Drones, he has won many awards for his photography, particularly of our local beaches.
True Nature focuses on patterns in nature and shows how everything within nature has its own balance. It shows how everything in the natural world is connected and that nothing makes sense by itself. The oceans, coastlines and forests naturally find their own balance in their biological make-up, and the animals within this environment contribute to, and take advantage of this.
As humans the chaos of our day to day lives lead us to forget to find balance within ourselves, within our minds and our environments, easily distracted and losing connection with the world around us. Having personally experienced and witnessed the effects of mental health issues, Reed Plummer’s mission for this exhibition is to remind us to find calm and balance in each day, coming back to your true nature, and achieving a sense of peace through connection and apply mindfulness.
This exhibition is to acknowledge Mental Health Month during October, a national month of awareness to promote the importance of good mental health during our day-to-day lives.
