Get Ready Central Coast Webinar Series: Helping young children prepare for emergencies
We know that severe weather and other emergency events will continue to be a part of our lives on the Central Coast, and these can occur at any moment.
When natural disasters happen, nearly everyone has some emotional response, whether they’re affected directly or indirectly. People of all ages from infants to adults may experience thoughts, feelings, physical reactions or behaviours that are intense, confusing and frightening.
Join us for a free informative webinar presented by Andrea Baldwin psychologist from Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (QCPIMH) to learn how to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of babies and young children and families, in relation to severe weather events and other natural disasters.
Andrea leads the team responsible for creating the Birdie's Tree resources. These storybooks, games and other materials help babies and young children, their parents and families, to cope with natural disasters and disruptive events. Birdie's Tree received the Resilient Australia National Award 2020 from the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR).
Come with your questions for an interactive Q&A session.
