Based on the 2003 hit film starring Jack Black, School of Rock is a hilarious rock musical that showcases some of the Central Coast’s greatest performers. Our story follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who is down on his luck.
After being kicked out of his band, he poses as a substitute teacher at the prestigious private school Horace Green Prep to earn some cash. Here he discovers his students are musically gifted and helps them to become guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing mini rockers.
Whilst working with his students, Dewy and the kids learn how the power of music can unite them and encourage their inner superstars to shine out! Featuring all the original hit songs from the film, plus some new songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, this high-energy smash hit delivers face-melting rock music played live by the kids!
This extravaganza will have you laughing, rocking out, and remembering the power of classic rock!
Proudly presented by Gosford Musical Society.
