Two of Barbara’s novels have also won the Romance Writers of Australia’s Romantic Book of the Year award.
About the interviewer
Sandie is a return visitor to the Central Coast, visiting our libraries as part of her launch tours for her popular Australian novels ‘The Kookaburra Creek Café' and ‘The Cottage at Rosella Cove’. Things were a little different for Sandie's third novel 'The Banksia Bay Beach Shack' which was released in March. But COVID-19 did not stop Sandie and she was one of our first Library Online presenters.
Sandie Docker grew up in Coffs Harbour, and first fell in love with reading when her father introduced her to fantasy books as a teenager. Her love of fiction began when she first read Jane Austen for the HSC, but it wasn’t until she was taking a translation course at university that her Mandarin lecturer suggested she might have a knack for writing. Sandie first decided to put pen to paper when living in London. Now back in Sydney with her husband and daughter, she writes everyday.
