Thursday, 6 August 2020 - 11:00am to 11:30am

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to hear from two great Australian authors when Sandie Docker interviews Barbara Hannay.

Sandie Docker sits down with Barbara Hannay to talk about Barbara's latest novel 'The Sister's Gift'. You are all welcome to connect with us online, get yourself a cuppa and tune into what is sure to be an interesting discussion about Barbara's literary works and writing.

About the author

Barbara Hannay writes women’s fiction, with over twelve million books sold worldwide. Her novels set in Australia have been translated into twenty-six languages, and she has won the Romance Writers of America’s RITA award and been shortlisted five times. Two of Barbara’s novels have also won the Romance Writers of Australia’s Romantic Book of the Year award.

About the interviewer

Sandie is a return visitor to the Central Coast, visiting our libraries as part of her launch tours for her popular Australian novels ‘The Kookaburra Creek Café' and ‘The Cottage at Rosella Cove’. Things were a little different for Sandie's third novel 'The Banksia Bay Beach Shack' which was released in March. But COVID-19 did not stop Sandie and she was one of our first Library Online presenters.

Sandie Docker grew up in Coffs Harbour, and first fell in love with reading when her father introduced her to fantasy books as a teenager. Her love of fiction began when she first read Jane Austen for the HSC, but it wasn’t until she was taking a translation course at university that her Mandarin lecturer suggested she might have a knack for writing. Sandie first decided to put pen to paper when living in London. Now back in Sydney with her husband and daughter, she writes everyday.
