Date

Tuesday, 21 April 2020 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Join us at Kincumber Library for a rebellious author tour!

The 'Herstory' theme is “women who rebel” as all 5 authors have characters in their novels who have agency and defy social norms of the periods in which the books are set.

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to hear from five strong female voices:

  • Tea Cooper - 'The Girl in the Painting'
For readers of The True Story of Maddie Bright, The Woman in the Green Dress and The Birdman's Wife comes this atmospheric and richly detailed Australian historical mystery from a bestselling Australian author.
  • Kerri Turner - 'THe Daughter of Victory Lights'
An enthralling story of one woman's determined grab for freedom after WW2 from a talented new Australian voice.

  • Karen Brooks - 'The Darkest Shore'
The independent women of Scotland stand up to a witch hunt, male fury and the power of the Church in a battle for survival in this compelling historical novel based on true events in early eighteenth century Scotland.

  • Mary-Anne O’Connor - 'Where Fortune Lies'
An epic and lyrical tale of love, adventure and gambled fortunes that ranges from the wild cloaked woodlands of Ireland to the Victorian Alps of colonial Australia from a bestselling Australian author. For fans of Nicole Alexander, Colleen McCullough, and Fiona McIntosh.

  • Victoria Purman - 'The Women's Pages'
